As the grand climax to the 2021-21 season, our annual Digital Image of the Year competition took place on Zoom on Wednesday 26 May with members invited to submit their best work of the season. (As print handling is impracticable in current circumstances, there was no Print of the Year competition this time.)
As set out in the competition rules on the club website, members could enter up to two digital images that have “previously been entered … in one of that season’s six club league competitions”.
Our independent judge for the competition was Micki Aston MCIoJ CPAGB, a professional stock photographer based in Gerrards Cross. Micki is also Vice-Chairman of The Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs and helps train photographic judges. She has visited LBPC as a judge and as a speaker on a number of occasions.
Before commencing the judging, Micki explained how she particularly loves doing these “Best of the Best” competitions. She said she would be looking for the images that impacted on her emotionally.
