Club Constitution and Rules
- The Club shall be called Leighton Buzzard Photographic Club. Membership will be open to all who are interested in photography.
- Membership is subject to the approval of the Committee.
- Subscriptions shall be such as are from time to time determined by the Annual General Meeting or by special General Meeting. Membership of the Club shall cease if subscriptions are not paid before a reasonable date set by the Committee. No person shall take part in a Club Competition or enter a Club Exhibition unless their subscription is up to date.
- The affairs of the Club shall be managed by a Committee. Five persons constitute a quorum. The Committee may invite a Member to attend a Committee Meeting as required. Committee Meetings are to be held every three months.
- The Committee of the Club shall consist of a Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and in addition at least six Committee Members, as may be from time to time decided, all to be elected each year at the Annual General Meeting. No Committee Member may stand for more than three years in succession unless no other candidates are nominated.
- The Club financial year will run from 1 June to 31 May.
- The Annual General Meeting of the Club shall be held at the penultimate Meeting of the season’s programme. The business shall include: Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting; Annual Report of the Committee; Statement of Accounts and Balance Sheet; Election of Officers and Committee Members; and the appointment of an Examiner.
- A Special General Meeting can be called at any time by the Committee or on receipt of a requisition signed by not less than one-quarter of the Members. Twenty-one day’s notice must be given to all Members of any Annual or Special General Meeting, with particulars of all business to be transacted. No business other than that appearing on the notice of such Meeting shall be transacted thereat.
- A copy of the Rules shall be supplied to every Member of the Club. No alterations to the Rules shall be made except at an Annual or Special General Meeting.
- In case of anything not provided for or not clear in the Rules, the Committee shall have the power to deal with the same at their discretion.
- The Club may be dissolved only by the consent of three-quarters of the Members present at a Special General Meeting called for that purpose. Such Meeting shall appoint a Liquidator and decide on the disposal of all Club funds and assets.
