Our first internal club competition of the 2026-27 season took place on Wednesday 30 September.

This was an “open” competition (ie, with no set subject) for both prints and projected digital images.

Entries as usual covered a wide and diverse range of subjects, approaches, and styles – including wildlife (owl, eagle, black kite, glossy ibis, gorilla, elephants, leopard, mandrill, dragonfly) steam trains, flowers, motorsport, candid/street, landscapes, seascapes, travel, creative, still life, infrared, colour, and monochrome, and more.

Our independent judge for the competition was Rojer Weightman from Slough, a former teacher of art and photography (with a particular love of still lifes).  He is a member of Stoke Poges Photographic Club.

Each entry was marked out of 20 and the marks count towards the season’s Print and Digital Image Championships.

Rojer was particularly impressed by our prints (which were all also “well presented”).
