Now that the club’s website has been moved to a new service provider, we have an opportunity to refresh some of the website content. So, the subject of the Challenge was “Website Banner Image”. And, with the promise that the best of our images would be used, we were invited to submit images potentially suitable for display at the top of the LBPC website home page.

As explained in the brief,

“This is your chance to have your image appear on the Club’s website home page.  The images used on the home page of the Club’s website have very specific dimension requirements.  And not every image works in those dimensions.  If you are up to the challenge submit up to a maximum of three images each.”

The “specific dimension requirements” are 1366 pixels wide by 455 pixels high.

Members responded with enthusiasm.  46 images were submitted covering a wide variety of subjects and styles, albeit landscapes and seascapes predominated.

Our judge for this informal competition (conducted via Zoom) was Alan Taberer from Imagez Camera Club.  Alan has been a keen photographer for well over 25 years and is a very experienced CACC judge who has visited LBPC (physically and via Zoom) on numerous occasions.  He thought the unusual brief made this an interesting competition.

Alan had been sent the images in advance to preview and commented that they were all of a really nice quality.  He had been asked to select First, Second, and Third places, plus some Highly Commended and Commended images.  All of these are the images that will appear on our home page.
