Hurrah! The new photographic season has started. And we are back at Greenleas School meeting in person!

Last Wednesday (7 September), after a brief introduction from new Chairman Tim Crabb, we kicked off the season with the traditional informal welcome back show of “what we did on our holidays” pictures.  Members, and indeed some new faces, were able to see what others had been up to during the summer break.

All sorts of genres and subjects were represented.  As well as the expected travel and landscapes, we saw seascapes, portraits (both human and canine), wildlife, still life, architecture, cemeteries, colour and black & white.  There was even some photo restoration and some infrared.

Of course there were plenty of travel images, both home and abroad.  There were pictures from locations as widely spread as London, Thailand, Dunstable, Botswana South Shields and Newcastle, Miami, Gloucester, Turkey, Edinburgh, Portmeirion, Norwich, Cambridge, and Warwick.

And we finished with a delightful AV of Coton Manor Garden (near Guilsborough, Northants) produced by Roger Gage with Smartphone images.

Accordingly, we all enjoyed a feast of great images to suit many tastes.

It was so good to catch up again with old friends, meet new friends, and talk photography and gossip.  And with all those images to admire, and all the stories told, it was as usual a most agreeable start to the season.
