Chairman’s Welcome Back Message – Sep 2021

We’re starting our new season on 8^th September as you know and it promises to be a good one. Carol and Tricia have gone in all guns blazing and have set up a really diverse and interesting program for us which they will be giving details about on our first night back. They’ve been working hard in the background over the break so please be there

We’ll be starting the new season on Zoom as we said at the AGM but will review the situation after three months as I’m sure you would all like to get back to our face to face meetings and that is our aim as soon as possible. We’re optimistic that we may be able to get clearance from the school to latch on to their internet and screen and use the Zoom facility at the school if needed as this will give us the best of both worlds in that Carol and Tricia would have a far larger pool of judges and speakers to work with and we would have the added enjoyment of seeing our lovely faces 😊 . Plus, any members unable to join us face to face may be able to hook up via Zoom. More on that later if it can be arranged.

Following feedback from a number of you, we have drawn up a ‘Club Etiquette’ (see attachment) which has been approved by the committee at our last meeting. This will hopefully enable things to run even more smoothly than they normally do and I’m sure you’ll agree that this will benefit us all.

It’s been an odd few years, to say the least, but hopefully, things are now getting back on an even keel so I look forward to seeing you all on the 8^th. There is the usual facility on the website to forward your annual subscription via bank transfer and please don’t forget to sign the GDPR at the same time as this is an annual requirement.
