The set subject was “At Home or Garden” – with the added briefing “Any photograph which was taken in the author’s Home or Garden during 2020.”

Perhaps not surprisingly images of flowers predominated, addressed in a variety of styles and approaches.  But there were also abstracts, still lifes, and surrealism as well as pictures of wildlife, children, and a model camper van.

Our independent judge for the competition was Jonathan Vaines LRPS CPAGB AFAIP, a very experienced photographer and judge.  He is also President of the Cambridge Camera Club and a regional organiser for the RPS.

Jonathan had been sent the images in advance.  He was therefore able to base his judging on the original digital files as submitted rather than how the images appeared on Zoom.

Each entry was marked out of twenty.  Marks for this competition count towards the season’s League Digital Image Championship (Sections One and Two) – see the Internal competitions, Rules for entry page on the website for details CLICK HERE.
