Our annual Mobile Phone Competition took place on Wednesday 11 March.
This was an “open” competition (with no set subject) for digital images which must have been captured using a mobile phone.
The Mobile Phone Competition aims to “celebrate spontaneous photography, creativity within the limits of a phone sensor, and the distinctive look and feel of mobile‑camera images”.
While images must be captured on a mobile phone, editing may be carried out on the phone or on a computer. (The full rules can be found on the Club Competition Rules for Entry page of our website under the Rules for Mobile Phone Competition tab.)
Members entered 46 images covering an extensive range of subjects, styles, and genres (including street/candid, still life and close up, landscape, architecture, sunset, flowers, travel, environmental portrait, creative, colour, black and white, and much more).
Our independent CACC judge for the competition was Peter Prosser APAGB from Watford Camera Club. He is a most experienced judge and also the mentor for other CACC judges.
After Peter’s deliberations and constructive critique, the results were as below.

Congratulations to John C!
Sadly, though, there is no actual prize for winning this fun competition. John merely gets the glory, the applause of fellow members, and (at our Annual Awards Evening in June) a certificate.
