Welcome Back to the New 2019-2020 Season

Hurrah! The new photographic season has started. And last Wednesday (4 September) we kicked off with our traditional informal welcome back show of “what we did on our holidays” pictures.

Members, and indeed some new faces, were able to see what others had been up to during the summer break.  And there was a veritable abundance of travel images for everyone to enjoy.

There were pictures from locations far and near – as widely spread as Cape Horn, the Panama Canal, New York City, Calcutta, Bhutan, Turkey, Ypres, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Anglesey, Devon, Cornwall, London, Tring, Otmoor, Stoke Bruin, Milton Keynes and Leighton Buzzard itself.

All sorts of genres were represented.  As well as the expected sights, attractions, events and landscapes, there was plenty of street photography, architecture and wildlife too.  There was even a portrait of a zombie and some infrared.

It was good to catch up again with old friends and talk about photography and gossip.  And with all the many images to admire, and all the stories told, it was, as usual, a very agreeable start to the season.

Chairman’s Message

Hi everyone,
Our first night back last night for the 2019-20 season and it was a good one. We had five new members who are very enthusiastic and keen, welcome to all of you, I’m sure you will enjoy being with the group, I had a brief talk with you all last night and I’ll get to know you better over the coming weeks.

As usual, on our first night back, we showed PDI’s of our exploits over the break and there are some sure competition winners in there so thanks to all who brought them in.

It was good to be back in the chair and, as always, if there are any queries I’m always available.

See you all next week
Mike.
