Built by Robert Stephenson in 1838, Wolverton Viaduct is a brick railway viaduct built to carry the London & Birmingham Railway Line over the River Great Ouse. It lies within the area of North Milton Keynes designated as the Ouse Valley Park.
The viaduct has six semi-elliptical arches spanning 60ft each between solid piers. The piers taper from 11ft 3in wide at the bottom to 10ft 10in wide at the top.
The hollow abutments are punctuated by semi-circular arches with 15ft spans. Stephenson formalised this design for most railway bridges on the line: an early example of standardisation. In 1881 the viaduct was widened to the west to allow for more tracks. The tracks run 50ft above the water and the viaduct is now 53ft across.
