Our fourth internal league competition of the 2025-26 season took place on Wednesday 28 January.

The set subject, for both prints and projected digital images, was “Low Angle”.

The Programme notes indicated that this meant “positioning the camera below the subject and shooting upwards, creating a unique perspective that can make the subject appear larger, more powerful, or imposing.”

As ever, the entries included a typically creative wide range of subjects and genres.  So, we were treated to a great display of landmarks and other architecture, bridges and monuments, trees and wildlife, as well as a pylon, a jet fighter, a staircase, and a big old American car.  And there was colour, tinting, and black & white.

Our independent CACC judge for the competition was Peter Prosser APAGB from Watford Camera Club, where he is a past-President, current Vice-President, and a member of the External Competition Selection Committee.  He is a most experienced judge and also the mentor for other CACC judges.

Peter was quite strict about the “low angle” brief.  Merely shooting at a low level was not sufficient and images were penalised if it was clear that the camera had not been “pointing up”.

Each entry was marked out of 20.  Marks for this competition count towards the season’s Print and Digital Image Championships.

The top performers in the competition were as below.
