The fifth internal club competition of the 2021-22 season took place on Wednesday 9 March. As print handling was impracticable in the circumstances pertaining at the start of the season (Covid etc), print competitions were suspended. Accordingly, our competitions this season have been confined to digital images.
So this was an “open” competition for digital images. As usual, the entries displayed a great variety of subjects, approaches, and styles – including landscapes, seascapes, travel, natural history, portraits, motorbike racing, candid/street, flowers, abstract, colour and monochrome, and plenty more.
Our judge for the competition was Peter Greenway CPAGB LRPS, Competition Secretary of the Kidlington Camera Club Photo Group. (He was a late stand-in and this was the first time he had seen the images.) He described himself as “quite a harsh judge”, but he aimed to spend more time critiquing Section Two to help the Beginners and Improvers.
Each entry was marked out of 20. Marks for this competition count towards the season’s Digital Image Championship (Sections One and Two).
