As the grand climax to the 2019-20 season, our annual Print and Digital Image of the Year competitions took place on Wednesday evening (3 June 2020) with members invited to select their best work of the season.

As set out in the competition rules on the club website, they could enter up to two prints or digital images that have “previously been entered … in one of that season’s six club league competitions”.

As print handling is impracticable in current circumstances, the Print competition entries were judged as digital images (although most had appeared as prints in pre-lockdown competitions).

The competition was judged by Martin Patten LRPS DPAGB BPE3* QPSA who Zoomed in from his home.  He is a professional photographer based in Hertfordshire, a past President and current Trophy Secretary of Watford Camera Club, and the current Chairman of The Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs.  He has visited LBPC as a judge on a number of occasions.

Each entry was critiqued with Martin selecting the Fiers, Secon and Third place images. Where Martin felt that un-placed images warrented a commendation he awarded either ‘Highly Commended’ or ‘Commended’ awards.
