Hurrah!

The new photographic season has started!

Last Wednesday (17 September), after a brief introduction from new Chairman Tim Gould, we kicked off the new season with our traditional informal “welcome back” show of “what we did on our holidays” pictures.  Members were able to see what others had been up to during the summer.

This time, however, there was the added twist that images had to feature the colour blue.

Needless to say, there was a veritable cornucopia of travel images for everyone to enjoy.  All sorts of genres and subjects were represented.  Except black and white of course!

We naturally anticipated plenty of blue skies and blue seas.  But members ventured far beyond that.

As well as the expected blue skies, blue seas, sights, attractions, events, and landscapes, there was also plenty of street photography, architecture, and wildlife too.  There was even a collection of blue rubbish bags and an art gallery lavatory!

And there were pictures from locations far and near – as widely spread as Bilbao, Weedon (near Aylesbury), London, Mauritius, Provence and other parts of France, Portsmouth, New York, Norwich, Iceland, Milton Keynes, and more.

Accordingly, we all enjoyed a veritable feast of marvellous images of many varieties.

It was also good to catch up again with old friends, talk photography, and gossip.  So, with plenty of images to admire and all the related stories to enjoy, this was as ever an excellent way to start the season.
