On Wednesday 4 June members contested the Howard Morris Trophy.
This is our biennial competition for monochrome prints originally instigated and sponsored by Howard Morris, one of our now late members whose great love was black and white prints. He also donated the trophy.
The Howard Morris Trophy alternates with our other biennial competition, the Landscape Trophy.
The competition is open to all club members who may submit two prints that have not previously been entered in any league competition (or any previous Howard Morris Trophy).
The Programme notes stressed that the images must be “black and white”.
The judge for this competition was Amanda Wright, the External Competitions Secretary of Ealing & Hampshire House PS and an experienced CACC judge.
25 prints were entered for the competition. As in previous years, they covered a variety of subjects including landscapes (both natural and urban), architecture, wildlife, street/candid, and still life.
After Amanda had carefully critiqued and assessed the images, the results were as below.
