The second internal club competition of the 2023-24 season took place on Wednesday 1 November.
The set subject, for both prints and projected digital images (PDIs), was “Peace”.
This was further described in the Programme – “we are looking for images that depict ‘Peace’. Examples could include symbols of peace, a sense of being at peace, a peaceful or tranquil scene, a march for peace”.
The entries encompassed a broad array of subjects in a variety of styles and approaches, although churches, graves, and memorials predominated. But there were also landscapes, seascapes, portraits, street/candid, travel, and wildlife, plus colour, black and white, and infrared.
Our independent judge for the competition was Chris Forster FBPE DPAGB MFIAP, a very experienced CACC judge of club and inter-club competitions. He paid close attention to the set subject and images were marked down if they did not meet the brief.
Each entry was marked out of twenty. Marks for this competition count towards the season’s Print and Digital Image Championships (Sections One and Two).
