Our annual, and prestigious, Portfolio Competition took place on Wednesday 11 February.
This is an open subject panel competition, in colour or monochrome. But the images must show some link – such as a common colour, subject or shape – identifiable by the judge.
Entries consist of three to six prints or digital images to be judged as a panel. (For digital images this means combining the pictures into a single projectable image.) The aim is to produce a panel that is greater than the sum of its parts.
There are separate print and digital image competitions. Full details of the entry requirements can be found on the Club Internal Competitions page of the website, under the Print Panel and PDI Panel tabs.
The portfolios entered covered many creative styles, genres, and subjects. These included colour and black & white, street, architecture, landscape, seascape, cityscape, still life, travel, abstract, and wildlife. And they were presented in all sorts of different arrangements.
Our independent CACC judge for the competition was Kevin Day, a professional photographer and designer from Slough. He praised our “really good images and lovely panels”.
After Kevin’s detailed critiques and thoughtful deliberations, the results were as below.
