Programme for the 2024-25 Season
Next season’s programme of meetings etc is being finalised and is in the Club Programme on the Club Website. More details will be added in due course.
New Projector
The Club has now bought a new projector that can project PDIs of 1600 x 1200 pixels and will shortly buy a new laptop.
In the coming 2024-25 season, members will therefore have to submit only images of 1600 x 1200 pixels, with no requirement for a black canvas, for internal competitions (and probably, depending on requirements, also for external competitions).
Other new bits of kit, such as a bigger/better screen and a replacement sound system, are also being considered.
Competitions
In the coming 2024-25 season, the Club will run the customary internal competitions.
The set subjects for 2024-25 for the League competitions will be Windows & Doors, Parallel Lines, and Tools of the Trade (definitions will be added to Club Programme in due course).
The set subjects for 2025-26 will be announced later.
Determining whether images “meet the brief” (where appropriate) will no longer be left to judges but will be dealt with by the Club. To allow time for this, images will need to be submitted a week earlier than currently (ie, twelve days before the competition rather than the current five days). And, for consistency, this will apply for all competitions. As now, these deadlines will be shown on the Club Programme.
A proposal to change the scoring of the League competitions was not accepted and the existing scoring by “marks out of twenty” will continue.
The Club and/or individual members will also be able to enter a variety of external digital image and print competitions, including the CACC Rosebowl and the Two Hemispheres International Competition.
If you didn’t know, you can also post your comments at the bottom of the page. Engage with other Members and share your thoughts on the entries and judging.
NB: Members can watch the recording of the meeting in full on the ‘Members Only’ section of the website.
